Ex-BLACK SABBATH Singer TONY MARTIN Issues Post-Greece Report
November 16, 2007Former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin has issued the following update:
"We just got back from Greece. I did an anniversary show to commemorate 20 years since I joined BLACK SABBATH. Since the very first show was in Athens in Greece and it's exactly 20 years since then. The show was great and I just want to thank all for being there. Well done you lot.
"I actually met a few people that were at that first show in Athens!!! Really cool! And they were STILL as passionate about what I do as they were then.
"When you sometimes have down days and you think what is the point of continuing, it's moments like those that keep you up and running.
"I have to thank my guys in this message because we went full on for this show and it took a LOT of hard work and a few stressful moments to get it up and running. Band... you were great, thanks.
"We lose a crew member now though, our sound tech, dodgy Chris, is at the end of his time with us and he moves on to a very different music, he has been with us from almost the beginning and he deserves recognition for his input. Well done mate, we're gonna miss ya, it's been a pleasure working with you.
"I have a new chance to re-release some stuff and I'm looking forward to that possibility. In the new year I'll be right back on it, and look out for new stuff.
"I'm aware that Christmas is right here and there's not much happening before that. I'm really pleased to have ended this year on a great gig in Greece where it all began and will continuing the whole thing next year."
Martin's latest solo album, "Scream", was released in November 2005 via MTM Music. The CD features legendary drummer Cozy Powell (BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, WHITESNAKE) on "Raising Hell" as well as songwriting contributions by another SABBATH member, Geoff Nicholls.
